The brand

It all began with a trip.

A curious eye, a desire to explore the soul of places, their art, their people… A discovery of those small workshops with a thousand-year-old tradition that crafted wonderful one-of-a-kind pieces. It’s our way of understanding fashion: unique, exclusive, handmade handbag designs that reflect a way of creating slowly, consciously, and with purpose.

Imayin started in 1996 during a long trip all over India. Patricia Barba and David Valdés were travelling in a very remote area in the border with Pakistan and they found lots of vintage fabrics with beautiful and rich embroideries made by hand 50 to 60 years old.

Then they decided to start a brand of handbags with patchwork of those wonderful fabrics, and each piece of Imayin was unique.

More than 35 different techniques are used in our bags, originating from old workshops from India and Indonesia.

Then India became their second home,and they got a net of craftsmen to develope the collections of Imayin handbags.

Later the brand developed shawls andstoles with wonderful fabrics of India like cashemere, silk and cotton.

A few years later, traveling all over Asia, they found the right place to develope handbags with beads embroidery in Indonesia, whereis traditional kind of work with master craftsmen very creative.
